Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

II John 2
What would be the end results if mankind was to take great care in looking after their body. It would reduce diseases a hundredfold and doctors would have less clients. Many ancient cultures and even primitive ones today have used natural remedies to combat diseases or wounds and many researchers in the West who would once have look down upon non-European tribes are now learning from them the values and properties of living by a natural diet and the medicinal properties in plants. One of the first researchers in this field of study was a highly respected U.S dentist of Welsh origin named Weston A. Price (1870-1948). He toured the globe for 10 years in hundreds of cities in 14 different countries and observed that whenever primitive tribes stuck to their indigenous diets and rejected the modernized processed foods of the Western world, such as white flour, white sugar and canned foods, they had perfect dental arches, minimal tooth decay, high immunity to tuberculosis and overall excellent health. In the Old Testament ‘the herb bearing seed’ was not only for eating, but also used for natural remedies to cure people.
He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth.
Psalm 104:14
And Isaiah said, Take a lump of figs. And they took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered.
II Kings 20:7
Aloes is a most wonderful plant whose healing properties are absolutely amazing. In the West Indies it grows wild and the Afro-Caribbean community still use it for cuts, wounds, asthma, diabetes, eczema, drinks and for washing their hair and their clothes. It is practically used for everything out there and it makes clothes exceptionally white and there hair feels softer and lighter after it has been washed with it. Many outsiders thought that the Afro-Caribbean community were backward and primitive for using that plant, until herbalists and American scientist saw the value of the plant and the benefit (and profit) it would bring to help improve the many diseases and ailments of man.
‘Aloes is one of the most healing agencies we have among the herbs. It is used in many cathartics since it is one of the best herbs to clean out the colon. This is one of the finest body cleansers and brings most gratifying results. It cleans the morbid matter from the stomach, liver, kidneys, spleen, bladder, and is the finest colon cleanser known. It should be used in any case where a laxative is needed. It does not gripe and is very healing and soothing to the stomach and the rest of the body. Aloes may be used alone for any kind of sore, cut, burn, or wound on the outside of the body, and is a very excellent remedy for piles or hemorrhoids.’ (1)
As the valleys are they spread forth, as the gardens by the river side, as the trees of lign aloes which the LORD hath planted, and as cedar trees beside the waters.
Numbers 24:6
One of the other key herbs used for curing in the Old Testament was ‘balm’. It was an odiferous resin used as an ointment for healing wounds and was also used for trade (Jer. 8:22; 46:11; Gen. 37:25; Eze. 27:17). Many of the plants that people see lying around also have healing remedies in them (stinging nettles; mint leaf, etc.) that contain in their natural DNA valuable healing properties that can combat anything that will attack the immune system of the body, for the LORD ordained that… ‘the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf for medicine.’ Ezekiel 27:12.
God has always wanted his creation to be healthy and that is why he gave our first parents on the earth to live by an herbivore diet (Gen. 1:29). The herbivore diet existed right up until the flood for both man and animals (Gen. 6:21, 22) until meat was added to his diet after the flood, along with the fruits, vegetables, nuts and grains (Gen. 9:3). Though God allowed meat to be a part of man’ diet after the flood, he has always made a distinction between the unclean and clean animals. The one’ that can be eaten and those that can’t, from the days of Noah (Gen. 7:2; 8:20) right up till the days of Moses (Lev. 11; Deut. 14:3-21). Many Christians believe that when Jesus came He abolished these health laws. They have totally misunderstood the spiritual lessons in Mark 7:15, Acts 10:1-28 and Colossians 2:16. The Lord still forbids us to eat animals that are scavengers (e.g. pig - Lev. 11:7; 14:8; scavenger fish – Lev. 11:10-12; Deut. 14:10; vulture’ – Lev. 11:14; Deut. 14:13) that is why when God was describing the spiritual degradation of the apostate church in Revelation, MYSTERY BABYLON, he described it as ‘a cage of every unclean and hateful bird’ (Rev. 18:2). The prophet Isaiah who wrote more about the last days and the new heaven and the new earth than any other Old Testament prophet, is clear when he wrote under inspiration that those who are eating the pig and the abominable animal at the Lord’ Second Coming will be destroyed (Isaiah 66:15-17).
(Note: The Lord has also always forbidden the eating of blood - Gen. 9:4; Lev. 17:11; Acts 15:20, 29)

'Eating just one sausage or three rashers of bacon a day can increase the risk of developing bowel cancer by a fifth, it is being claimed.
Prof Wiseman, medical and scientific adviser at the charity World Cancer Research Fund, added: "Whether you are talking about bacon, ham or pastrami, the safest amount to eat is none at all. You can make a positive difference by cutting out as much as possible.
But there is also some evidence that processed meats may increase the risk of cancers of the oeophagus, lung, stomach and prostrate, Prof Wiseman warned.' (2)
Food is meant to build up our energy levels and strengthen our muscles (I Samuel 14:27) and the more natural the quality of food is, the stronger our system becomes. Modern research has proved that the more natural your diet is and the more you look after your body, the healthier you become and the longer life you will live. There are eight laws of health and if these were followed by every one each day, then their health would greatly improve and they would greatly reduce the many diseases that are afflicting mankind and doctors and hospitals would not have as much patients as they do today.
The eight laws of health are:
Nutrition
Exercise
Exercise
Water
Sunshine
Temperance
Air
Rest
Trust in God
George Washington Carver was an African-American scientist, botanist, educator and inventor. He is little known outside of the United States, but this deeply religious man’ great contributions to society such as creating over 300 products from the peanut which he is most famous for, which includes cosmetics, dyes, paints, plastics, gasoline, carpet backing, crayons, oil solvents, ink, soap, shaving cream, paper, etc., has given him the title as the founding father of the chemurgy movement.
He laid the groundwork for organic farming and today’s research on plant-based fuels, medicines, ecology, conservation, ethnobotany, bioengineering and biological product development. In 1916 he was made a member of the Royal society of Arts in England and in 1918 he was appointed to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He taught Henry A. Wallace, who later became the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture and Vice President under President Franklin D. Roosevelt and not only was he offered a six-figure sum from inventor Thomas A. Edison to work for him at Menlo Park which he declined, he was also very close friends with industrialist Henry Ford, where in the 1930s they both worked on biodiesel oil, a fuel replacement made from any vegetable oil and animal fat.
On January 21, 1921, he addressed the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee in Washington D.C. on a proposed tariff on imported peanuts and its importance of natural health. In his research he quoted from the Bible as his source of reference.
‘If you go to the first chapter of Genesis, we can interpret very clearly, I think, what God intended when he said “Behold, I have given you every herb that bears seed. To you it shall be for meat.” This is what He means about it. It shall be meat. There is everything there to strengthen and nourish and keep the body alive and healthy.’ (3)
The more research that is investigated in to the benefits of natural foods, the more the results have shown that natural diets and the less intake of meat and the more intake of fruits, grains, nuts and vegetables helps fight off diseases. Modern technical appliances (car, mobile, facebook, etc.) are very helpful and have made areas of life a lot more easier, but the disadvantages are, that they have made people more antisocial, less creative, and very lazy.
'Children's fitness levels are declining by 4.3 per cent a decade globally.
However, the rate of decline in Britain is double the global rate, according to research undertaken at Essex University.
What's to blame? As well as increased time spent watching screens, Dr Sandercock points to the fact that car ownership has more than doubled since the Seventies. Meanwhile, children's strength, which had been improving since World War II, is also dropping.
Today's children are also less able to hang from wall bars in a school gym. Their arms weaker and their ability to grip objects tightly has declined, according to the study of more than 300 primary school children in Essex.'
As Dr Sandercock has found, the average BMI for ten-years olds stayed the same, meaning children's bodies are likely to contain less muscle and more fat.
Lack of fitness is 'worrying because in terms of children's health, cardiorespiratory fitness may be more important than BMI,' says Dr Sandercock.
'It's an indicator of the risk of getting heart disease and other killers such as cancer.' (4)
'Watching Popeye squeeze tins of spinach into his mouth helps children eat more veg, researchers claim. The sailor famously guzzles his greens for strength – but children’s vegetable consumption almost doubled after they watched his cartoon antics, a study found. Impressionable youngsters also talked more about their healthy diet and were proud of having eaten their greens at lunch, reported parents. The findings emerged after children were encouraged to plant their own seeds, cook vegetable soup and watch Popeye cartoons by researchers at Mahidol University in Bankok, Thailand.’ (5)
‘Children who eat an apple a day may be keeping not just the doctor but also cancer at bay. Researchers traced nearly 4,000 people who took part in a study more than 60 years ago into eating habits. They discovered the higher the fruit consumption during childhood, the lower risk of developing cancer in later life. Eating plenty of fruit was also associated with lower death rates from all causes, according to the report in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health.’ (6)
'Analysing the long-term effects of the daily consumption of an apple in post-menopausal women, researchers at the University of Florida fund that apple-eating women experienced a 23 per cent decrease in LDL ('bad') cholesterol, compared to those eating dried prunes.' (7)
The natural properties in ‘every herb bearing seed’ and ‘tree yielding seed’ helps the body to combat diseases and strengthens the immune system far better than any prescribed medication. Healthy living should start from very early. When a woman has conceived and a baby is growing inside of her womb, what she puts inside of her body also affects the development of the child. Recent studies have shown that caffeine is very harmful and the more natural and healthier the diet is, the better chance of a healthy newborn baby.
‘Pregnant women who drink coffee could put their babies at a higher risk of cancer. Caffeine might damage the DNA of the unborn child and make them more vulnerable to leukaemia, research shows. Studies have shown that caffeine can make changes to DNA which weaken cells against cancer-triggers such as radiation. (8)
Weston A. Price in his global research was astonished at the healthy methods primitive tribes used so that a baby is born healthy and strong. It superseded the Western methods by far and helped to develop a healthy baby by child birth.
‘The primitive peoples have carried out programs that will produce excellent babies. This they have achieved by a system of carefully planned nutritional programs for mother-to-be. It is important to note that they began this process of feeding long before conception takes place, not leaving it, as is so generally done until after the mother-to-be knows she is pregnant. In some instances special foods are given the fathers-to-be, as well as the mothers-to-be.’ (9)
The moment a child is born, the best diet for it to give it a head start in life should be breast milk. Recent studies have shown that this strengthens the child’ immune system and also improves and strengthens stronger brain cells.
Today it is known with certainty that breast-feeding is important, at least for the first few months of life. It creates intimate contact between mother and child, and breast milk is the perfect food for babies, full of important nutrients and disease-fighting antibodies. Breast milk also contains substances that have a calming effect on the baby. When a mother nurses, oxytocin, a calming hormone, is released in her body, making her feel more harmonious as well. (10) Breastfeeding has been shown to boost another vital life asset – intelligence. Exclusively breastfed youngsters scored nearly six points higher in tests of overall intelligence. They also beat non-breastfed youngsters by 7.5 points in verbal intelligence tests. (11)
In recent years, researchers have fanned out across the globe to find the secrets to a long life. Funded in part by the U.S. National Institute on Aging, scientists have focused on several regions where people live significantly longer. In Sardinia, Italy, one team of demographers found a hot spot of longetivity in mountain villages where men reach age 100 at an amazing rate. On the islands of Okinawa, Japan, another team examined a group that is among the longest lived on Earth. And in Loma Linda, California, researchers studied a group of Seventh-day Adventists who rank among America’s longetivity all-stars. Residents of these three places produce a high rate of centarians, suffer a fraction of the diseases that commonly kill people in other parts of the developed world, and enjoy more healthy years of life. In sum, they offer three sets of “best practices” to emulate.
In February 2010 a small interesting article came out in London’ free paper the METRO. It recorded that ‘Europe’s oldest man, Stanley Lucas, has marked his 110th birthday at home in Bude, Cornwall, with more than 70 friends and family. The continent’s most senior citizen, a one-time farmer said fresh air and country food were key to longetivity.’ (12) Though he drank sherry, the ‘fresh air and country food’ had helped to lengthen his life.
There is a perfectly good reason why God instituted a natural diet to man at the beginning of time. It helped his body to grow in vigour and kept his mind and body strong. It is important that our diets should be as natural as possible, especially if we have access to the right foods. If the eight laws of health are followed, then the body will be able to avoid the many illnesses that are capturing so many innocent people’ unawares. God never designed man to suffer and the more he humbles himself and takes heed to these laws the better his health will be.
